Do you want to know how to go about converting your travel trailer to solar power? In today's economy and with the state of the planet, eco RVs are becoming more and more popular. While many of today's travel trailers, camper vans and motorhomes can include such luxuries as air conditioning, television with 100 channels and microwaves, they do tend to use lots of electric power to run all these fun features. Solar panels to the rescue!

For an avid traveler, what would be a better place to live in than a recreational vehicle? The long drives, good music and the comfort of home, it's all there. You can take a road trip everyday and visit new places without having to find lodging and food on your trip. If you can't afford a brand new RV to live a life like this, you should go for a used one. A used RV costs far less than the new one. Before making a decision, you should consult someone who has lived in one of those before.

Before purchasing a used RV, you should pay attention to some details. The look of an RV can be rather deceiving and the deal might not turn out to be so good. Whoever is selling the vehicle will not inform you of its drawbacks, so you will have to thoroughly inspect it yourselves. The first thing you need to check is the engine and for that, you should take it for a test drive. If the engine doesn't start at the first try, you shouldn't take the vehicle. This is the best way to find out if there is any problem with that. If it's bumping and sounds creaking, it's just not worth it. After the test drive, make sure you check that the engine gets too hot or not.

The panel will normally be mounted on the roof or truck bed, and many companies sell a RV Solar Electric Kit that can make the installation of the panels easier. Some kits are specially designed for your brand of RV and you can also buy tiltable brackets that you can angle towards the sun when you are parked.

That should be obvious. But, it is also cheaper to rent a RV and travel America's roads than it is to book a room in a posh resort hotel or on a cruise ship. And... traveling by RV is much more interesting than sitting poolside at a swank, beachfront hotel. And besides, you've probably spent more than one vacation at one of those "fancy" hotels.

You can rule out the time consuming process of going through the classifieds and conveniently make a purchase online. When you fill in the info of the RV that you wish to purchase, you will be provided with a listing consisting of such vehicles for sale in the area. Whichever vehicle you click, transfers you to another page where you will find the relevant info about the vehicle. If you find everything you need, you can contact the owner and check the vehicle for yourselves.

When you travel by RV, you set the tempo and the pace - you go where you want, when you want - that's personal freedom. And it's why RV travel is so popular. Whether you decide to buy or rent, traveling by RV is something that you will be happy you did.
